CVE - Methods

Bernoulli Verification

The Bernoulli verification test is one aspect in heart valve approval testing according to the FDA Standard. It is performed in the CVE pulse duplicator.

Special in vitro method for the testing of the calcification behaviour of biological heart valve prostheses.

The assessment of the cavitation threshold is an important aspect for the examination of mechanical heart valve prostheses. It is performed in the CVE pulse duplicator.

Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV)

One challenge in the development of implantable devices such as artificial heart valves, blood pumps, total artificial heart or oxygenators is the reduction of hemolysis and thrombogenesis. Therefore, a detailed analysis of flow patterns is necessary for the development of these devices. The analysis is performed using Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) – a laseroptical, non-invasive flow measurement system.
