Prof. Steinseifer elected as Convenor of the ISO Working Group "Heart valve prostheses"

Professor Steinseifer was elected in an international vote as the new convenor of the Working Group "Cardiac Valve Prostheses" (Technical Committee 150, Subcommittee 2, Working Group 1: Cardiac Valves) of the International Standardisation Organisation ISO and has officially taken over the leadership of the Working Group on September 24th, 2020. He succeeds Professor Ajit Yoganathan (Georgia Institute of Technology, Georgia Tech).

The working group consists of more than 40 international experts from industry, science and clinical practice as well as representatives of national and international standardization, approval and supervisory organizations (e.g. FDA, BfArM, TÜV Product Service, etc.). It develops the ISO standards for the approval of heart valve prostheses (ISO 5840) and medical devices for the repair of defective heart valves (ISO 5910).
